Title: Nature Reclaimed
Limited edition giclee print
Dimensions: 19.75” by 25.5”
Story behind the art:
“This piece has probably been my most challenging work to date. I created it over several weeks of 10-14 hour days in the studio - designing the buildings, carefully painting each brick, capturing small details with an unforgiving medium and at the largest scale I’ve done.
‘Nature Reclaimed’ was inspired by the resilient plants growing through the cracks in the concrete sidewalks against all odds. These made-up buildings represent man-made creations being reclaimed by nature. A portrayal of the tension that exists between nature and man and how beautiful the rewilding and regeneration of nature can be.”
This limited edition art piece was hand painted on 450 gsm hahnemuhle cornwall watercolor paper in watercolor and gouache. It was reproduced by a 100 year old local fine art printing company at original size with a 100 print numbered series on archival accent opaque uncoated paper using Canon lucia ex inks that won’t fade over time.
“There’s something inspiring about the way nature heals itself and how it can grow in the most unlikely of places”
Each print is signed, numbered, and includes a certificate of authenticity and is packaged in a custom acid-free clear sleeve and carefully rolled and shipped in a rigid tube to prevent bending and folding.
The piece in a museum-grade hand-milled walnut frame (as pictured) are available to Austin residents upon request.
