Story behind the Art:
This original art piece was painted with both gouache and watercolor in 2025 on Nujabi paper. It was reproduced at original size 11” by 14” with a 50 print numbered series on both Hahnemuhle German paper and Accent Opaque uncoated paper.The Karner Blue Butterfly is a near-extinct species that migrates through North America. In this painting, the butterfly sits atop a curled fern among a forest of native wildflowers. This piece calls the viewer to protect the nature around us and appreciate the both complex and fragile ecosystem we live within.
