Snails

$25.00

This original linocut piece is hand carved and printed in Speedball rich, satiny water-based black ink on creamy traditional fine-art, white Mulberry paper approximately: 11” by 14”. The paper is made from mulberry fibers and is thin and soft, yet very strong with lightly textured fiber inclusions for an expressive surface and character. Made by an eight-generation company in Tokushima, Japan - Awagami Factory creates sustainable, eco-friendly, acid-free paper that truly stands apart and an ideal backdrop for my work.

This highly detailed relief print started as an original drawing sketched straight on a linoleum carving block and then the design was carved into the block, inked, compressed in a lever-style press, and hand pulled individually from the block. Each print comes signed in pencil and marked with a traditional stone makers seal unique to the artist for added authenticity. Because of the hand printed process each print may have slight variations making each a true original.

Each piece is carefully packaged in a protective cellophane made of 100% virgin, high clarity polypropylene film and rolled into a rigid tube to ensure the safety of the print during transit.

Note: This piece is also available in the natural-colored/cream Kitakata paper by Awagami upon request. Simply check out normally then email worksofaquirk@gmail.com with your order number and your order will be updated with the paper change.
